MK Stalin’s statement on JNU issue is unfortunate and divisive politics : ABVP

Chhtrashakti Desk

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has made an unfortunate statement regarding the desecration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue in JNU by the leftists, which is going to challenge the integrity of the country. ABVP strongly condemns and opposes this statement full of tainted mentality, which is an attack on the national unity.

It is not in the culture of ABVP to insult the portrait of any great man. We completely deny the allegation made by Stalin with the aim of helping the malicious leftist mentality. Stalin wants to create controversy in Tamil and Telugu by attacking tribal students in collaboration with anti-India leftists.

On the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, his portrait was installed in the Student Activity Center on February 19 around 8 PM. The program completed peacefully till 8.15. After that, when our workers again reach the same room for the ABVP unit meeting at 9 o’ clock, they see that some communist students and outsiders have thrown out the pictures of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Maharana Pratap. The garland of flowers offered on him was also mutilated and thrown in the corner outside the room. When we called security personnel to investigate and take cognizance of this matter, it came to know that outsiders were also included among those communists who threw the pictures. Seeing the reinstallation of those pictures by the students, the communists threatened that as many times you put up, we will throw them. At 11 o’clock the workers of Vidyarthi Parishad reached the main gate after taking out a procession in honor of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. At the time of the procession, a crowd of more than 100 communists gathered at the Student Activity Center to attempt once again to throw back the portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji. In no time, that communist mob attacked ABVP karyakartas.

The communist student, whose act Stalin is trying to cover up, was actually the leader of that mob. He is the one who led the mob in attacking two arts graduate students of JNU with sticks. The injured ABVP karyakartas were then treated at AIIMS Trauma Center. It is clearly visible in the videos that how the left unity has attacked the innocent students by forming a mob of more than 100.

ABVP JNU Unit President Umesh Chandra Ajmeera said, “The insult of our national hero Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by the illegal anti-social elements and internal Naxalites in JNU is highly condemnable. The politicians who came in support of these anti-India forces deserve more condemnation. ABVP has a clear opinion that insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is intolerable. We strongly demand that strict action should be taken against such anti-nationals and their supporters so as to ensure that such anti-India activities happening in JNU from time to time can be stopped.”

While the newly elected Secretary of ABVP JNU Vikas Patel said, “We have filed a written complaint against the insult of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maharana Pratap to the JNU administration and the police and requested them to conduct a fair investigation in this matter and strictest steps should be taken to bring the culprits to book.”
