Under the aegis of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Medevision, the annual Sevanubhuti camp was successfully conducted at Ranzani, Taloda, Nandurbar district, bringing together medical students from Khandesh and Marathwada. For the past three years, the initiative has enabled medical students to engage with tribal communities, understand grassroots healthcare challenges, and contribute through service-oriented activities.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Barkha Padvi, ABVP Devgiri State Vice President Prof. Amol Marathe, ABVP Devgiri State Secretary Dr. Varunraj Nannaware, and Medevision Devgiri State Convener Dr. Lalit Sonar.
On the second day, a free medical check-up camp was organized for the residents of Ranzhani village. Villagers received medical consultations, basic treatment, and health education. Special awareness sessions were conducted on Sickle Cell Disease, a significant public health concern in the tribal belt of Nandurbar, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis, prevention, genetic counselling, and timely treatment.
A special interactive session was held with Dr. Divakar Kulkarni, former President of Savitribai Phule Mahila Ekatma Samaj Mandal. During the interaction, he shared his decades of experience serving urban underserved communities as well as rural and tribal populations, inspiring the participating medical students to embrace compassionate and community-oriented medical practice.
The camp also featured several personality development and leadership sessions. Prof. Bharat Sonar conducted an engaging session on Team Building. Participants also took part in debates, traditional games, yoga, and physical training aimed at fostering teamwork, leadership, discipline, and holistic development.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Varunraj Nannaware, ABVP Devgiri State Secretary, said:
“Nandurbar, with its large tribal population, presents unique public health challenges that every future doctor should understand. Through Sevanubhuti, we have consistently attempted over the last three years not only to provide healthcare services but also to help medical students gain first-hand exposure to the realities of tribal healthcare, nutritional issues, the burden of Sickle Cell Disease, and the functioning of rural health systems. Our objective is to nurture socially responsible, empathetic doctors who are committed to addressing the healthcare needs of underserved communities and contributing meaningfully to nation-building.”
The valedictory session was addressed by ABVP Devgiri State Organising Secretary Siddheshwar Latpate, who encouraged the participants to uphold the values of service, social commitment, and professional excellence throughout their medical careers.
Medical students from various medical colleges across Khandesh and Marathwada actively participated in the camp, reaffirming ABVP Medevision’s commitment to community healthcare, experiential learning, and the development of socially conscious healthcare professionals through the Sevanubhuti initiative.
