New Delhi. Volunteers and activists of ABVP Delhi distributed around 600 food packets at various locales in Delhi. Cooked food was given out to the needy and the homeless in Delhi’s Christian Colony, Gur Mandi, and Mukherjee Nagar. Food packets are being prepared by ABVP volunteers at its Delhi office.
Meanwhile, distribution of dry rations among the stranded students continues alongside. Ration kits comprising of rice, pulses, wheat flour, potatoes, onions, along with essential goods like toothpaste and soap are being delivered to the students in need in Delhi, within a day of any request being made over ABVP’s helpline number.
Sidharth Yadav, State Secretary, ABVP Delhi, said, “We have released helpline numbers to assist students who could not leave for their respective homes before the lockdown. Besides students, we are also working with social organizations like Sewa Bharti to help the poor and the homeless. In this hour of crisis, ABVP volunteers are standing shoulder to shoulder with the doctors, medical fraternity, policemen, sanitation workers, and numerous other unsung heroes manning the frontline in our collective battle against the global pandemic COVID-19.”
