Women excelling in numerous fields honored at ABVP’s Swayamsiddha program

New Delhi : Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in collaboration with Delhi University Students’ Union organized ‘Swayamsiddha 2023’ at Sir Shankar Lal Hall in the North Campus of Delhi University and at PGDAV College in the South Campus to felicitate Women achievers in the fields of Academics, Sports and extracurricular activities. The event was graced by prominent guests such as Indian Women Wrestler Babita Phogat, Supreme Court advocate Monica Arora, and Prafull Akant, ABVP National Joint Organizing Secretary, as chief guests in the north campus. Similarly, in the south campus, the prominent guests were Aastha Agarwal Pilibhit Municipality President, Nidhi Tripathi ABVP Central Working committee Member, Krishna Sharma Principal PGDAV College, Ram Kumar, State organization Secretary ABVP Delhi, and Shivangi Kharwal, Joint Secretary DUSU.

Organized by ABVP and DUSU, ‘Swayamsiddha’ 23′ felicitated approximately 1500 women studying at Delhi University for their outstanding achievements in various fields such as education, academics, NSS, NCC, and sports, with medals, trophies, and certificates. The program also featured other competitions such as rangoli, essay writing, and poster making.

Identifying their Self-worth can help women reach their goal: Babita Phogat

During her speech at the event, Indian women wrestler Babita Phogat congratulated the success of Chandrayaan-3 and said, “Women need to work effectively in various fields and also recognize their inner strengths that will lead them the way forward. We must contribute to the betterment of our country. Since childhood, my father said, “Don’t speak ill to others first, but if people harm you don’t spare them” Today, the voice of self-reliant India has gained strength. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is working excellently towards women’s empowerment and advancing women in order to strengthen the nation.

ABVP National Organizational Co-Secretary Prafull Aakant, said, “The India that was once portrayed as a poor, helpless, illiterate, and the country of snake charmers, as a part of western conspiracy, has now again become ‘VishwaGuru’ through the success of Chandrayaan-3. The leadership of India is working towards bringing peace to the World today, and the country’s reputation has grown through actions based on values such as sacrifice, cooperation and love. The Swayamsiddha program is not only aimed at awakening inner belief but also at creating a victorious program to make India more prosperous.”

Nidhi Tripathi, member of the Central Working Committee ABVP, said, “Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has worked towards bringing positive changes in society through various focused programs for women in collaboration with campuses, such as Swayamsiddha, Ritumati, Mission Sahasi, etc. Women leadership in different fields around the world has shown the path of positivity and creativity. The students studying in campuses today constitute a generation that forms the foundation of New India, hence efforts should be made to enhance their entrepreneurial spirit and continuously learn in new arenas.”
