Imphal, September 25, 2026: State Environment Conclave 3.0, organised by Students for Development (SFD) Manipur in collaboration with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Manipur, was successfully held at the Auditorium of the College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroisemba, Imphal.
The state-level conclave brought together 468 representatives from 44 campuses across seven districts of Manipur, providing students and young people with a common platform to deliberate on environmental challenges, sustainable lifestyles and the need for greater youth participation in environmental action.
The conclave was organised around two key themes –“From Conclave to Campus: Inspiring a Sustainable Lifestyle through Environmental Action” and “Eco-Conscious Youth for a Sustainable Manipur: Combating Plastic Pollution.”
The programme featured four sessions focusing on environmental conservation, sustainable lifestyles, youth participation, climate responsibility and measures to combat plastic pollution. The sessions emphasized the importance of translating environmental awareness into concrete action at the campus and community levels.
The programme was attended by several distinguished guests and speakers, including Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha; L. Joykumar Singh, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest, Government of Manipur; Payal Rai, National Convenor, SFD India; Dr. Thiyam David Singh, NEC Special Invitee, ABVP; Dr. Aribam Indira, State Incharge, SFD Manipur; Potshangbam Borrish, Convenor, SFD Manipur; R.K. Amarjit Singh, IFS, Special Secretary, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Government of Manipur; T. Brajakumar, Director, Environment & Climate Change; Prof. Khumukcham Tomba Singh, Registrar, NIT Manipur; and Shri Bhagwat Singh, State Organizing Secretary, ABVP Manipur, along with other distinguished guests.
A dedicated Student Participation Session was also organized, in which 103 students showcased their creativity and concern for environmental issues through a Model Making Competition, Poster and Slogan Competition, and Painting Competition. Through innovative models, thought-provoking slogans and vibrant artwork, the participants expressed their ideas and imagination on environmental conservation and sustainability.
The conclave highlighted the role of students and youth in building environmentally responsible campuses and communities. It also emphasized that environmental awareness needs to be accompanied by sustained action and collective participation.
With participation from 7 districts, 44 campuses and 468 representatives, State Environment Conclave 3.0 concluded with a collective commitment towards building a greener, cleaner and sustainable Manipur.
