Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) expresses deep sorrow and condemns the brutal murder of 25-year-old MBA student Vivek Saini in Georgia, USA. The heinous incident unfolded on January 16 when Vivek Saini asked a 53-year-old homeless man, Juan Faulkner, to leave a convenience store where Vivek Saini worked. Faulkner responded by attacking Saini with a hammer 50 times on his head, leading to Vivek’s instant death at the scene.
ABVP is appalled by this tragic loss and condemns the senseless violence that claimed the life of a promising young student. ABVP demands the Bharatiya government to raise this issue with the US Government to take immediate and strong action in ensuring justice for Vivek Saini. There have been numerous cases of violence based on racism against the Bharatiya community in the US, where the US government has not taken appropriate action. ABVP demands a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this horrific incident, along with all other cases of violence against the Bharatiya community, and calls for appropriate measures by the US government to prevent such tragedies in the future.
ABVP National General Secretary, Yagywalkya Shukla, stated, “Our thoughts are with the grieving family of Vivek Saini, and we extend our heartfelt condolences. We demand that central government authorities to raise this issue with the US government to bring the perpetrator to justice, sending a strong message that such acts of violence arising out of racism will not be tolerated in any society.”
