Mission Sahasi, a two-day self-defense training program organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Vidyarthi Vikash trust concludes with a Mega Demonstration of self-defense skills at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) complex, Kolkata. Shrimati Rupa Ganguly, eminent actress and Rashmi Samant, former president of the University of Oxford were present respectively as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour in this event. Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bharadwaj, ABVP National Organising Secretary Ashish Chauhan and National Secretary Shalini Verma were also present in this grand session.
Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bhardwaj, the chief mentor of this event, trained quick and easy skills of self-defense to hundreds of girl students as well as encouraged them to become mentally strong and fearless. In the mega demonstration session, participants showed a brief demo of what they were taught in the two-days training camp.
Rashmi Samant, Youth leader and former president of the University of Oxford said “Mission Sahasi is a great initiative of the ABVP that aims to provide girls a better life with a strong and fearless approach. This training is a continuous process and will create a huge impact among the girl students of Bengal. We are hopeful that Bengal will come out of this problem and ABVP will play a meaningful role in the path towards making women fearless.
Shalini Verma, National Secretary of ABVP said, “ABVP has provided self-defense skills to girls since 2018 and trained more than 15 lakhs students across the nation. Hundreds of girls from schools, medical, paramedical colleges and nursing institutes participated in the Mission Sahasi training camp of ABVP. They will be trained to further teach the girls of their respective campus or district. ABVP aims to find a logical solution to the ongoing problem in West Bengal.”
