The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Allahabad University unit, vehemently protests against the atrocities inflicted upon innocent women and girls in the Sandeshkhali incident. Today, at the Student Union Building, ABVP members staged a demonstration, symbolically burning the effigy of the Mamata government, and submitted a memorandum to His Excellency the President through the District Magistrate, urging swift action.
The incident, brought to light during the recent visit of the Honorable Governor of West Bengal, Shri Anand Bose, exposes a disturbing reality of exploitation and abuse. ABVP strongly condemns the abhorrent acts of torture and ill-treatment perpetrated by Trinamool Congress leaders. The forcible identification and abduction of Hindu girls and women from their homes is an affront to humanity and cannot be tolerated. In response to the egregious offenses in the Sandeshkhali incident, ABVP calls for urgent action, including a comprehensive investigation by a central agency to uncover the extent of the state government’s involvement. We demand the immediate deployment of central forces to safeguard the affected women and ensure their security. Additionally, ABVP urges the provision of psychological support for those traumatized by these events and the establishment of a dedicated helpline for reporting similar incidents. Furthermore, we advocate for the creation of a fear-free environment in Sandeshkhali, where such atrocities will not be tolerated.
ABVP stands firm in its commitment to social justice and will continue to mobilize nationwide support to address this issue and deliver justice to the affected sisters.
Jhanvi, a member of ABVP, stated, “The harassment of women by the criminal elements sheltered by Mamata Banerjee is deplorable. We demand the strictest action against all perpetrators, including the removal of the Mamata Banerjee government.”
Alok Tripathi, Unit Secretary of ABVP Allahabad University, remarked, “The involvement of Bengal government leaders in the Sandeshkhali episode exposes the anti-women stance of the Mamata Banerjee government. ABVP is dedicated to spreading awareness and ensuring justice for the victims.”
