In view of the upcoming Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections, the probable candidates of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) have accelerated their campaign efforts. On Friday, ABVP’s probable candidates visited several hostels across Delhi University’s North and South Campuses. During the outreach, they interacted with students, highlighting the achievements of ABVP-led DUSU in recent years and the initiatives taken for student welfare. The candidates assured the student community that the organisation would continue its struggle for a better academic environment, transparent administration, and the expansion of student facilities across the university.
As part of the campaign, ABVP activists and prospective candidates engaged in detailed discussions with hostel residents. Students raised a number of concerns, including improved dining facilities, cleanliness, security measures, internet connectivity, and the expansion of library services. ABVP representatives assured the students that victory for ABVP led DUSU would not simply represent the success of its candidates, but would be a triumph for the collective voice and aspirations of the student community. They also underscored that hostel life poses unique challenges, and it is the responsibility of ABVP to address these issues on priority.
ABVP Delhi State Secretary, Sarthak Sharma, said,“The Delhi University Students’ Union election is not merely an electoral exercise, but an expression of the expectations and rights of the student fraternity. ABVP activists are continuously reaching out to students in hostels, PG accommodations, colleges, and classrooms, holding direct dialogues with them. Our objective is not limited to electoral victory; our foremost commitment is the protection of student interests. We have consistently agitated for student welfare, women’s safety, improved transport facilities, and an inclusive academic environment. ABVP has always stood by students during times of challenge, and we remain determined to continue this struggle with renewed vigour.”
