The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) expresses deep grief over the loss of lives in the devastating floods in Nepal’s Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts. The loss of lives and reports of several people, including pilgrims, missing are deeply distressing. Damage to hospitals, schools, police posts, bridges and other critical infrastructure has further aggravated the situation, leaving lakhs of people affected and many families facing severe hardship.
ABVP stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult hour and extends its heartfelt condolences to the affected families. ABVP appeals to the concerned authorities to intensify relief and rescue operations on a war footing, ensure the early tracing and safe return of those missing, and provide immediate assistance to affected communities. ABVP also welcomes the Government of India’s prompt decision to send 10 tonnes of relief material to flood-affected people in Nepal by air. Such timely assistance will provide much-needed support to those affected and further strengthen the close bonds between India and Nepal.
