New Delhi: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has announced its Election Committee for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) Elections 2026 on Sunday, 30 August. ABVP Delhi State Secretary Shri Sarthak Sharma has been appointed as the Convenor of the DUSU Election Committee.
The ABVP Election Committee will comprise National Secretary Aditya Takiar, State Organising Secretary Vipin Uniyal, State Joint Organising Secretary Pradyumn Singh, National Executive Member Shivangi Kharwal, and National Media Convenor Harsh Attri.
It is noteworthy that all major decisions related to the DUSU elections, including the selection of ABVP candidates, will be taken by this Election Committee. With the formation of the committee, the process of deliberations on the names of potential candidates for the DUSU elections has also begun.
ABVP National Secretary Aditya Takiar said, “The students of Delhi University have always placed their trust in ABVP, and this trust is our greatest strength. The objective of our Election Committee is to select candidates who genuinely understand the problems faced by students and are committed to working with complete sincerity towards their resolution. The responsibility of a students’ union cannot be limited to reaching out to students only during elections. The real test of a students’ union lies in how seriously it raises students’ concerns throughout the year, engages with the administration, and ensures concrete results in the interest of students. Over the past several years, ABVP has strongly raised the voice of students not only in DUSU but also across various colleges of Delhi University. Whether it is the issue of basic campus facilities or the need for academic reforms, ABVP has always given the highest priority to student welfare. This is why students continue to express their complete faith in ABVP. The committee is continuously deliberating on the names of potential candidates, and the candidates for the Central Panel will be announced very soon.”
ABVP Delhi State Secretary and Convenor of the Election Committee Sarthak Sharma said, “This year, through our ‘My DU, My Manifesto’ campaign, we have further strengthened the tradition of directly engaging with students. During this campaign, students have shared their concerns, expectations, and suggestions with us. Our manifesto will be prepared on the basis of these suggestions and the aspirations of the students, and our candidates will go to the students with these very issues. We believe that a manifesto should not merely be a formal document; it should be a true reflection of the aspirations and expectations of the students of Delhi University. Since the reopening of the campus on 28 July, ABVP has been actively working among students through various campaigns and help desks. We are pleased to see that students are satisfied with our work and are looking towards ABVP with renewed hopes for the future. When we announce our Central Panel on 11 September, it will undoubtedly represent the aspirations, trust, and hopes of the students.”
