Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) strongly condemns the brutal killing of Chongtham Vikram and expresses its deep condolences to his family and loved ones. ABVP today submitted a memorandum to the DCP, South-East Delhi, demanding a swift, impartial and thorough investigation into the incident and strict legal action against all those responsible. The loss of a life over a matter concerning peace, discipline and mutual respect is deeply disturbing. Violence can never be justified and such incidents must not be allowed to become normalised.
The brutal attack on Chongtham Vikram, which resulted in his tragic and untimely death, is deeply distressing. ABVP urged the Delhi Police to establish the facts of the case at the earliest, identify everyone involved and ensure that the guilty are brought to justice. The administration must also take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future and ensure a safe and secure environment for members of the Northeast community living in Delhi.
ABVP Manipur State Secretary Gautam Philem said, “The killing of Chongtham Vikram is deeply painful and disturbing. No disagreement or situation can ever justify taking someone’s life. What is most important now is that the truth comes out quickly and that those responsible face strict legal action without any delay. My heartfelt condolences are with Vikram’s family and everyone who is mourning this tragic loss.”
ABVP Delhi State Secretary Sarthak Sharma said, “What happened to Chongtham Vikram is a serious matter and cannot be brushed aside as an ordinary incident. The Delhi Police must conduct a fair and thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. At the same time, there must be a clear sense of safety and confidence among members of the Northeast community in Delhi. ABVP will continue to pursue the matter and raise its voice for justice.”
