New Delhi – On Monday, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad held a massive protest at the National Testing Agency headquarters in Okhla, Delhi, against widespread irregularities in the recently announced NEET-UG 2024 results. ABVP demanded a CBI investigation into the matter and called for various necessary steps to ensure transparency in all examinations conducted by the NTA.
NTA recently released the NEET-UG 2024 exam results. The released results showed widespread irregularities. In the results, 67 students have secured the first position, with 7 of these students coming from the same centre in Haryana. There are also allegations of paper leaks. Considering these issues, ABVP protested at the NTA headquarters and demanded a CBI investigation, to public clear information on students awarded grace marks, increased security at exam centers, the conduct of exams at government centers, and the appointment of government-appointed invigilators at exam centers.
ABVP National Secretary,Shivangi Kharwal, said that, observing the irregularities over recent times, it seems that the NTA has become a corrupt institution. Almost every examination conducted by the agency has had some irregularity. The fact that 67 students secured the first rank, with 7 from the same center, cannot be a coincidence. This indicates that the institution is somehow operating with corruption. We demand a CBI investigation and have also put forth other detailed demands in the memorendum for a fair and trasparent conduction of examinations to ensure such situations must not arise again.
ABVP Delhi State Secretary, Harsh Attri, said that the widespread irregularities in the recently released NEET-UG results indicate how the NTA is working irregularly and in a corrupt manner. Today, we have held a protest in front of the NTA headquarters regarding these irregularities in the NEET-UG exam and have demanded from NTA to promptly address these irregularities.
ABVP National Secretary and Former National Convener of Medivision, Virendra Singh Solanki and Delhi University Students Union Secretary Aparajita were present during the protest along with hundreds of students.
