Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has launched nomoresatyaniketan.in under its ‘Aakhir Kab Tak?’ campaign following the tragic incident in Satya Niketan. The initiative aims to put student safety at the centre of public attention, help students identify unsafe living conditions and strengthen accountability of the concerned authorities.
The website features ‘Check Your PG’, allowing students to conduct a preliminary safety check of their accommodation against 10 key safety indicators. Through ‘Spot the Signal’, students can anonymously upload photographs of cracks, unsafe construction and other potential hazards while keeping their identity confidential. The platform also provides helpline and emergency assistance information for affected students.
ABVP has also published eight key demands on the platform, including fixing accountability for the Satya Niketan incident, completing structural and fire-safety audits of all PG accommodations in student-dominated areas within 30 days, providing safe accommodation and assistance to affected students and families, constructing adequate hostels, ensuring an FIR and independent investigation, and implementing a PG Regulation Act in Delhi. The website will also publicly track administrative action on these demands to ensure that student safety does not remain limited to assurances.
ABVP Delhi State Secretary Sarthak Sharma said, “The purpose of this initiative is to give students a simple and accessible way to identify risks in their accommodation and bring unsafe conditions to the authorities’ attention. The information received through the platform will be taken up with the concerned administration for necessary action. ABVP will continue to engage with the authorities while firmly pursuing the issues of safe accommodation and adequate hostels. Our efforts will continue until there is visible and concrete action on student safety.”
