The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) welcomes the Ministry of Education’s decision to conduct a CBI investigation into the irregularities observed in the recent NEET-UG exam. From the outset, ABVP has been at the forefront, demanding a thorough CBI investigation to address these concerns. ABVP firmly believes that any irregularities in examinations jeopardize the future of students and will not tolerate such actions. The organization calls for impartial and stringent action against those responsible.
The recent irregularities in the NEET-UG examination have alarmed the entire nation, prompting ABVP to take a strong stand against the National Testing Agency (NTA). Over the years, ABVP has consistently raised concerns about examination irregularities, demanding their resolution through protests and other means. At the NEC meeting held in Surat from June 7–9, ABVP passed a resolution addressing these issues. The resolution highlighted critical problems such as cheating, paper leaks, corruption, and negligence in answer sheet evaluations at both central and state levels. It called for the establishment of an autonomous and independent central investigation agency to enforce the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024, ensuring transparent examination processes. Additionally, the resolution demanded that government institutions serve as examination centers, exams be conducted by regular employees, and guilty examination agencies be blacklisted to prevent future malpractices.
Yagywalkya Shukla, National General Secretary of ABVP, stated, “Paper leaks and irregularities in central and state examinations have been a significant concern, endangering the future of meritorious students. ABVP has long opposed the NTA’s working system and demanded reforms. Educational irregularities compromise student futures and are unacceptable. We have been advocating for a CBI inquiry into the NEET-UG exam from the beginning and welcome the Central Government’s decision. It is imperative that the Central Government ensures fairness and eliminates irregularities in all examinations conducted at both central and state levels, taking strict measures to uphold integrity.”
