On Wednesday, around 12 pm, the NSUI Presidential candidate for DUSU, Ronak Khatri along with NSUI goons forcefully entered Miranda House college by breaking the Gate of the college. The DUSU constitution allows only 4 students along with the DUSU candidate to enter the premises of a college in DU, but the NSUI goons along with Ronak Khatri disregarded the rules and broke the gates of Miranda House college to enter forcefully inside the college. The girls inside the college felt threatened with their safety. Even when the girl-students tried to stop these goons of NSUI from entering the college, they manhandled and misbehaved with them leading to risking the safety and security of girls inside the college campus.
ABVP Secretary candidate for DUSU, Mitravinda Karanwal, stated, “The incident of forcefully entering a women’s college by NSUI candidate and bringing male outsiders, in large numbers, inside the college, is shameful. ABVP strongly condemns such violent behaviour of NSUI goons in women’s college campuses. ABVP stands united with the girl-students of Miranda House College who felt unsafe during this incident and strongly demands action into the matter. The perpetrators of this incident including NSUI Presidential candidate for DUSU, Ronak Khatri should be held responsible for such a shameful incident and cancelling his candidature must be taken against him for breaking the rules of DUSU constitution.”
