Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) strongly condemns the acts of chaos, public disruption, and violent clashes that unfolded at Jantar Mantar during recent demonstrations regarding NEET-UG and education reform. ABVP believes that under the guise of a genuine student movement, rogue political interests and anti-social elements deliberately orchestrated violence to disrupt public order- a tactic ABVP denounces in the strongest terms. ABVP extends its heartfelt sympathies to the injured students and security personnel, expressing hope that such conflicts will not recur in the future. The organization maintains that the legitimate grievances of students must be resolved solely through meaningful dialogue, empathy, and institutional reforms.
ABVP wishes to clarify that it has consistently stood with students from the very beginning against irregularities in various competitive examinations, including NEET-UG. To ensure the credibility and transparency of the examination system, ABVP was the first to demand an investigation by a central agency, organizing protests outside the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters to demand accountability and strict action against the culprits. From 2024 to the present day, ABVP has continuously fought in the interest of students regarding the NEET-UG issue. Therefore, ABVP demands that the Government of India constitute a high-level committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the integrity, transparency, and necessary institutional reforms of competitive examinations. This committee should submit concrete, time-bound recommendations to make the examination system more credible and accountable.
ABVP believes that the genuine problems and just demands of students should not be exploited for narrow political interests, anti-national agendas or to create an environment of instability, conflict and lawlessness in the country. Such malicious attempts empower anti-India networks, such as the ‘Deep State,’ which have long been seeking opportunities to undermine India’s internal stability, integrity, sovereignty, and unity, as well as to foster social discord. The student community of India is conscious, patriotic, and committed to democratic values; it will not allow itself to become a vehicle for political misguidance, external influence, or anti-national plots. ABVP appeals to students, youth, parents, teachers, academicians, and all societal stakeholders to play an active role in maintaining a positive, peaceful and democratic atmosphere to resolve student issues , keeping them far removed from political manipulation and provocation and to remain vigilant against anti-national conspiracies.
National General Secretary of ABVP, Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, stated that,”The irregularities in various competitive examinations, including NEET-UG, have raised deep concerns among millions of students across the country. ABVP has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the students on these legitimate issues from the very beginning. Any attempt to divert the just demands of students toward narrow political interests is a grave injustice to student welfare. Student power cannot be allowed to be used to serve political agendas or forces working against India’s unity, integrity, and social harmony. Such ill-intentioned efforts indirectly strengthen anti-India mechanisms like the ‘Deep State,’ which have long been trying to weaken India’s internal stability and sovereignty. The resolution to students’ just issues must be achieved only through meaningful dialogue, sensitivity and institutional reforms. ABVP demands that the Government of India form a high-level committee for a holistic review of the purity, transparency and necessary institutional reforms in competitive examinations, thereby restoring credibility and accountability to the exam system.”
